Everywhere you go they are sold out of it. I'm talking about the iPod. Who would think that in October 2001 when the iPod was introduced that it would be so popular. And in April 2003 Apple launched its own music store that it would change the way people buy music forever. They have already sold 25 million songs off iTunes. That is incredible. And Apple made a very good move when they introduced iTunes for Windows. And with recent rumors it looks like Apple is going to come out with a Mini iPod in January at the Expo. Probably a 2 GB or 4 GB model. I wish they would move the 20 GB down to the $299 price tag and include the accessories with it. That is why I don't have my iPod that I was promised for Christmas yet. I told my mother that I wanted to wait and see what Apple does after the Expo. I hope that this is the right decision. I can't tell you how badly I am wanting my iPod. I have bought several songs off iTunes. I love that software. Well, I guess time will tell.
I got my 128 MB compact flash card today in the mail. I put it in my digital camera and it shows that I can take 1,355 pictures. That is alot of pictures. The car is now fixed. There was a hole in the vacuum tube. Went to Tyler today to get my mother a Christmas present. Then we went to Red Lobster. I had shrimp with a steak. It was so good. Our CompUSA is history. The store was closed and the sign was gone. I guess I will have to get my iPod at Apple's online store or Best Buy. I don't think I can make it up to our Apple store in Plano.
I just got back from seeing The Return of the King. That movie was 3 hours and 20 minutes long. I have not read the books so I can't compare them with the movies. But, this movie was the best one out of the trilogy. I think this was the best movie of my lifetime. It is the first movie that I have gone to where when it was over people clapped and yelled. But just when you think it is going to say "The End" it kept going on. I like the way Peter Jackson finished the trilogy. Go and see this movie
My car has something wrong with it. So we are going to have to get that fixed. But we won't be going home to spend Christmas with family. This really makes me mad and sort of depressed. Nothing I can do about it.
-President Bush: "A dark and painful era is over. A hopeful day has arrived." -Former Iraqi president was wearing pistol but did not fire it -Saddam being interrogated at undisclosed location -600 U.S. troops staged lightning raid on rural hiding place -Saddam was "very disoriented" at the time of his capture -Baghdad streets fill with celebration
Remember making paper snowflakes when you were a kid? Well, now it's the digital age! And this way you won't get stuck using the wrong-handed scissors, or in trouble for runninng with them. Make a snokeflake here.
The power went out and my mother stumbled over the dog gate. She is ok. Just a little bruised. Also while at the post office my car died. It would not start. I had to buy a new battery. But, I only had to pay $2.00. The battery was a free replacement. I guess the old one was under warranty. So that was good. My youth group went to the nursing home and to the fire station to sing Christmas songs. While we were in the parking lot my friend knocked my HP Jornada 568 out of my hands. It now has a dent and the stylus is broke. I called HP and they said that it would cost me $199 to get it fixed. I could buy a new one for that price. So, I am ticked off about that.
Comcast Communications is nearing an agreement to purchase TechTV for nearly $300 million, sources familiar with the deal said Friday. The cable operator plans to merge the network with its struggling video game channel G4. [tvweek.com]
I installed a new forum. It is the phpBB 2.0.6 bulletin board package. It was so easy to setup. My old one took me for ever to install and setup. It was a pain. The service that I had it on put ads all over it and I did not like that. And I will be adding more topics later. I don't expect anyone to register. But it is there to use.

2. What was the last thing you purchased? Belkin Firewire Card for my PC.
3. Do you prefer shopping online or at an actual store? Why? I like to shop online and in the stores. I like to research the stuff that I am going to get online before I buy. I read reviews and look at pictures.
4. Did you get an allowance as a child? How much was it? Yes. Enough.
5. What was the last thing you regret purchasing? Xbox. It broke. But, I'd like to have another. I just won't get it at Wal-Mart.
I got my Belkin Firewire card today. Installation went very well. I just wish I had something to test it with. I guess I will just have to wait until I get my iPod. I am also thinking about getting a iBot webcam. I hear the quality is better. Wish the iSight would work with pcs.
I saw the new Matrix movie today. It was cool. But, it left more quetions than answers. I also used my free movie rental and got Finding Nemo. I thought this movie was awesome. Pixar sure knows how to make a good animation.
The Alumni weekend went very well. No one that was in my room was there. I guess they have lives. I did not really see anyone that I knew. But I did see Nicole, Stella, and Colin with his wife. Friday a bunch of CAs decided to go get ice cream. So went with David Johnson and Daniel Blankenship. While all us were there the police kicked us out. There had been a drive by shooting a couple of weeks ago and someone got killed. So that is why we were asked to leave the area. After that we decided to go to Hell House. I've never been. It was good. Saturday was ok. There have been alot of really cool changes to T.M. I left right after the business meeting. I did not stay for the football games. I don't have glasses and can't drive at night, so I left early because there was daylight.
Friday I am going to be going to the Teen Mania Alumni Weekend. It should be a fun weekend. I'll try to find a computer while I am there and blog. But, I am sure that won't happen. I did setup a moblog for pictures. I will give out the email address when I get there.
Today I went to Tyler. We ate at Red Lobster. It was so good. Then I went to CompUSA to look at the iPod. This would be the first time I have touched a 3rd Generation iPod. They had one setup with songs on it. Nothing that I liked but good enough to test with. They had the iPod connected to speakers, so I could not turn the volume up very loud. The first thing I noticed is that it is very light and thin. Perfect for the pocket. The controls are solid state they don't move. I like that very much. It was very easy to navigate through the iPod and find songs. The LED backlight for the LCD screen was very good. I like the fact that the buttons light up red. Well, I can now say that I really truely want one. I love iTunes for Windows. And the music store has a good Christian selection to choose from. I also found alot of books that I would like to listen to instead of reading. I can't wait until Christmas.

My youth group had a car wash today. It went well. I am getting an ipod. I think it will be the 10 GB model. I just have to get a firewire card for my computer. I know that the ipod will work with USB 2.0 but I only have USB 1.1. And it will be very slow to transfer music to it. So I will get a firewire card to make transfers alot faster. I'm so excited about this I can't wait. But I will have too. I have had the Rio 300, 500, 600 and now have my HP Jornada 568 for an mp3 player.
1. What vehicle do you drive? Ford Escort 2. How long have you had it? 7 years 3. What is the coolest feature on your vehicle? Remote Entry 4. What is the most annoying thing about your vehicle? The color. 5. If money were no object, what vehicle would you be driving right now? 2003 Dodge Viper
have decided that I want the HP ipaq h2215. It has a compact flash and secure digital card slot. The h1945 does not have a compact flash slot. And the audio jack is not a normal size so I would have to carry around an adapter. The h2215 has bluetooth so I would still have that. It is a little bit larger than the h1945. And the screen is not as bright. But it is running Windows Mobile 2003. Now if I could just get someone to buy my HP Jornada 568.
I went to Tyler today to look at the HP ipaq h1945 Pocket PC. I am thinking about selling my HP Jornada 568. I want Windows Mobile 2003 and bluetooth which the h1945 has built in. The device is so small and thin. I was amazed. The screen is so bright and crisp it is beautiful.
The interview for the job went well. It was a short interview and they made me fill out another application. I don't think I will get the job. Apple rolled out new Powerbooks today. I want one so bad. I am sick and tired of Microsoft's OS. I am tired of getting viruses and it crashing on me. I wish I had the money to get the 12" Powerbook. It would be a learning experience since I don't know anything about Macs.
I put in for a job at Westwood Elementary School. I hope I get it. I decided to create Jims Tech News. It will be basically technology news from different sources around the internet. It is technology news that interest me. I also changed the templete for my blog if you have noticed. I don't know if I like it yet. I might go back to the old one.
It finally seems if F2o.org has the DDoS thing under control. Today I went to my youth pastors house to fix their old computer. It was coming up with alot of errors during start up. I don't know what I did but I fixed it. Tonight I had to go get something at Wal-Mart around 11:30 pm and they were having illegal street racing in my town. This happens every night I think. We have alot of teenagers that have race-rockets. I was pulling up to the stop light and there was smoke everywhere. And the smell of burnt rubber. That person must have taking off fast. I think all the police are at home or they don't care. That's all for now.
I want a laptop computer. I had a Fujitsu 270Dx but I sold it on ebay. It had alot of problems that would have cost me alot of money to get it fixed. So, It was a good thing to sell it. But I mess being able to take my computer everywhere with me. I take my desktop computer to youth to use it on the projector. But I can't take it every Wednesday because it is so heavy. I enjoy being able to use it in youth. I like Dell and HP laptops. I wish I had the money to get one. I would ask for one for Christmas but again I don't think that would happen. It really has me depressed.
I just got a new battery for my HP Jornada at Office Depot for $0.95cents. They had alot of stuff on clearance. I might go back and get some more stuff. Update: I went back and got the battery with MMC slot on it. It originally cost $80 dollars. I got it for $2.04. What a great deal.
Today has been a fun day. I went to Six Flags with two friends. I fixed me some sandwiches to eat for lunch because I did not want to spend allot of money on food, it is so expensive at Six Flags. Well, we got there and paid for our tickets and went through the mental detector. Then I had to have my bag checked. I told the security lady that it only had my food in it. I put it in a small cooler. Well she said that they were not allowed in the park and that we can't bring in outside food. So, I can't go put it into my car because we got dropped off. She said that the gas station would keep it for me until the park closes. So I left to go find the gas station and it was right in the parking lot. I did not have to walk far. We got to it and it was closed. We walked around to the other side of the park and found a security person and ask for help. And she said that she would call someone to open it for us. Someone came and opened it up for me. While we waited I managed to eat one sandwich and drink one coke.
We finally made it into the park. There was hardly anyone there. School has started in Dallas. And I guess it was because we went on a normal business day. We walked right up to some of the big roller coasters. Did not even have to wait for a minute to ride. It was so cool. The ride would end and the people said that we did not have to get off. We got to ride The Batman ride and the Titan 4 or 5 times. My friend finally decided that he wanted to do Mr. Freeze. It was really funny because when we were riding The Batman ride we saw people walking on Mr. Freeze. The ride was closed for inspection I guess. They've had allot of problems with this ride. Guys were walking all over it. It finally opened up and we rode it 4 times. Believe me that is allot. We walked right up to it and got on. I just learned something really cool. The movie Spy Kids 2 was filmed right at Six Flags Over Texas. They added allot of CGI rides that did not exist. You should go check out the DVD and look at the special features on it. But, in the movie you can see The Batman ride and Mr. Freeze. But the rides were not going. They should have made them operational in the movie. This is the longest post ever.
I'm going to Six Flags on Tuesday. A friend was going to pay our way but decided not to. I'm not very happy with him right now. But, my other friend who is going has a thing where if you buy one you get one free. So I guess it will all work out. And my other friends uncle is kind of enough to drive us all up there. So that is going to be nice.
I went bowling again with my youth pastors on Saturday. It is funny, we played 2 games and I made a strike on my first bowl for each game. There are 10 frames to play in one game. My friend Jonathan also went along this time. When I got home I broke my glasses. I don't know what I am going to do.
1. How much time do you spend online each day? Alot 2. What is your browser homepage set to? Google.com 3. Do you use any instant messaging programs? If so, which one(s)? AOL IM, MSN IM, Yahoo 4. Where was your first webpage located? Tripod.com 5. How long have you had your current website? I've had this one for 4 months. The one that I had at tripod.com I had for 6 years. I don't have it anymore.
I picked up a CyberHome DVD player at Radio Shack today. I really like it. It plays MP3s and JPEG pictures that are on CD-R or CD-RW. It even recognizes folders on the cd. It is a very small dvd player.
I went bowling today with some friends. It has been along time since I bowled. I did pretty well. I made one strike. But, my friend won. Monday I am going to Best Buy to get the Canon Poweshot A70. I can't wait.
Chris Pirillo has just released the Lockergnome RSS Resource website. Chris said "it was designed to help you understand just how RSS (and other syndication efforts) are continuing to change the way we access information online." I use a program called FeedExpress for my RSS Feeds. But, I have been using a new program called FeedDemon. It has alot of cool features and you can customize it. But, it is in beta testing now. I like this program. Chris has put out yet another great website.
I went to best buy today to look at the Canon Powershot A70 digital camera. I took my compact flash card with me. I asked the guy working there if I could use it to capture some pictures to see how they turn out before I buy it. He said yes. The pictures came out great. I also managed to capture a short movie with it too. I am going to get this camera.
I went to Tyler today and looked at digital video cameras. While I was at Best Buy I passed by a Toshiba Tablet PC. It was the first one I had seen in real life. I got to play with it some. I could not put the screen down because they had something behind it to stop it from turning. I guess to protect it. It was a $2,000 dollar pc. I got some new cloths at JCPenny's today. That is about it.
The yard sale that I had on Saturday went extremely good. I sold alot of my stuff. But it was so hot. And I mowed the church grass and the property by my house. But it went well. I found another digital video camera that I might get. It is the JVC GR-D30US. I just have to go and read all the reviews on it first. Then I want to go to Best Buy and compare prices with other places.
My town just finished up the fireworks that they intended to show on July 4th. It was incredible. Just when you thought it was the end they launched more and they were bigger and louder. You can see pictures of it on my moblog. I added the most recent picture to my website. If you scroll down it is under my desktop picture. The picture will change everytime I send a picture to my textamerica account.
I'm in the public library again surfing the internet. They have broadband. I love it. One of these days I am going to get DSL. Today I have been moving stuff over to the church for our yard sale that we are going to have on Saturday. I have alot of stuff. That and because I am trying to save for a digital video camera. I also have to clean the church today because the pastors son is on vacation. But I don't mind. And Friday and Saturday I have to mow the church grass. So this is going to be a busy weekend.
I just got back from seeing some really good fireworks. My town put it on. But, the device that controls the fireworks broke so they postponed it until next Friday. I did get some awsome pictures of it. Check out my Moblog here.
I went today and saw Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines. It was a great movie. I did not think it would be good. But, the storyline was written very well. But, the way it ended was strange. [Listening to: Thursday July 3, 2003 - KenRadio's World Tech Round Up - Ken Rutkowski & Andy Abramson - (30:42)]
Saturday I went to South Fork Ranch to Celebrate Freedom 2003. I went with my youth group. It was very hot. My youth pastors bought a tent and it helped alot. We got to see Rebecca St. James, Phillips, Craig and Dean, Chris Rice, Anointed, ZOEgirl, Newsong, Jaci Velasquez, Mark Schultz, and Avalon. There were alot more artist there. I got some really good pictures. We had to buy tickets for food and drinks. That was not good. We got to go in the house that was on the tv show Dallas. It was nice but nothing great. I got a sun burn. And I the way home our bus broke down again. I don't like that bus at all. It was a huge mistake on getting.

I just got back from seeing Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle. That movie was terrible. The acting, directing, plot, story line and camera angels were terrible. The first movie was cool. They just messed up big time on this one.
Do you remember me telling you guys about being kicked out of the YMCA because we were wearing t-shirts in the pool. Well the person that I was with their mother used to work there and she called them and complained. Today she hands me a 6 month temporary guest pass. I can get in for free until December. I guess we won. Apparently they have special shirts that we are suppose to wear in the pool. I think that is crazy. They have a new guy and he has a bunch of new stupid rules.
I got a Xact 2-Way Communicator today at Walmart. It was cheap, but I plan to use it at Celebrate Freedom on Saturday. I rearranged my room again. I put my computer desk back into the corner and moved my entertainment center at an angle in the corner. I decided I'm not going to move my waterbed right now.
Well my first LAN party was a success. As you can see on my webcam it was a small party. But it was alot of fun. We only played Half Life. But I plan on getting some more multiplayer games. I would like to get a hub so we can have more people join in. The interview for the job went very well. But, I don't think I got the job.
I got a D-Link DFE-530TX+10/100 Fast Ethernet card today. I had no problems installing it. I got a crossover cable coming. My friend and I are going to hook our computers together and play multiplayer games.
I went to go see 2 Fast 2 Furious today and it was sold out. I will try again tomorrow. I cleaned the entire church today. My youth group is having a BBQ fundraiser tomorrow at the church and I am not going to go over and clean up after them. I don't care if the place is dirty. They need to clean up after them selves. I have done my job. I should not have to do it again.
I just don't understand it. My xbox did not recognize the game cds but now it just did. I played a dvd for awhile and then kept the dvd Ir connected to it and now it is working. Ok it is acting up again. I just don't understand. It came up with an error in the game.
I went to the YMCA today to go swimming. They told us to leave because we were wearing t-shirts in the pool. I was so mad. I tried to talk to the manger but he already went home. I went before and they never said anything about not wearing shirts in the pool. My mother used to work there and so did the other persons mother so someone's going to get it. I just want my $5.00 dollars back. I called them to ask how much it would cost for a guest to swim and they said it would be $2.00 dollars. When I got there they said it was $5.00. When we got there to begin with we could not swim because they were having classes in the pool. I don't care for our Y.
I got my xbox on August 6th 2002 and today it finally stopped working. I put a game disc in it and it does not recognize it. I called Microsoft and they did not help me. I am going to have to pay $99 dollars for them to fix it. It still plays dvds and music cds. I am so mad right now. Update: My Microsoft Optical IntelliMouse Explorer broke.
I decided to get a Moblog. It is a free service from Textamerica. I want to go see the new movie from Pixar Finding Nemo. It looks like a really good movie. And, I like Pixar. They make some of the best animation movies.
Today we went over to our friends house and cooked steaks. The power went out at their house and we ended up taking all the food over to the church. I finally got an email from my friend that lives in Tyler. His computer has been on the blink. He said that he is moving, but did not tell where. But I am glad I got an email. I am using W.Bloggar to type my blog with. It seems to be working.
Well, my youth group finally made it to Six Flags on Saturday. It did not rain. We all had fun riding all of the thrill rides. We got a new ride it is called Superman Tower of Power. It was so much fun. On the way home the bus broke down and we sat in the middle of the exit rap for about an hour and half. It was not fun. The pastor and his wife happen to be about 20 minutes away and they helped us get started back up. We hope that we can go back to Six Flags in the Fall.
I had a website before this blogging thing even was a memory. I used to update an HTML file everyday. That website is gone. Then I got my first blog at blogger.com here. Then after that on May 24, 2003 I got my first movable type blog hosted at f2o.org. That did not work out so I now have my blog run on blogger.com hosted on earthlink.net. My enitre archive from my movable type blog is now up on my current blog.
